About My Clients
I have experience working with BIPOC, Asians, immigrants, children, adolescents, and adults. I have interned in a variety of settings including hospitals, factories, and offices to gain an understanding of the unique concerns of diverse populations. I also have experience counseling individuals, couples, and groups, demonstrating my ability to adapt to different therapeutic needs and preferences.
My Background and Approach
I am a compassionate and culturally sensitive therapist and aim to create a safe and supportive environment for my clients by practicing empathy, active listening, and non-judgement. My current work includes working with adult clients who struggle with a range of issues such as depression, anxiety, work stress, trauma, attachment, and grief. As an eclectic counselor, I integrate a variety of approaches from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, mindfulness, art, and movement-based theories to help my clients understand their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that an individual’s current concerns are affected by their past experiences. I understand that culture plays an important role in the way individuals define, perceive, experience, and treat their difficulties. I recognize that topics related to mental well-being are stigmatized in the society, but I firmly believe that everyone should have an opportunity to experience therapy. I feel that therapy is not a luxury and should be available to anyone in need.
