About My Clients

Trauma is relentless and all-encompassing. Whether it's collective trauma in the form of CPTSD or a singular event that has changed everything you once knew of as safe and steady, I’m here to help. If you are a survivor of intimate partner violence or have questions about the health of your relationship, I am here to listen without judgment. If you are newly pregnant or postpartum and experiencing feelings of overwhelm beyond anything you could imagine, I understand and want to support you.

My Background and Approach

Working with me will be joining a safe, confidential space where you can openly discuss anything without judgment. My therapy space is warm, welcoming, and accepting. I use a combination of several therapeutic techniques but always approach sessions from a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach. I am happy to tailor my sessions to your own needs and interests. I do generally enjoy bringing supplementary materials to sessions, as I find that the old adage “knowledge is power” is incredibly relevant to mental health. The more that you can understand about yourself, the more equipped you will be on the path toward healing, change, and restoration. I enjoy using worksheets, workbooks, videos, and articles, but I also venture into pop culture, news stories, and music as ways to connect and learn about oneself. I also enjoy using humor when appropriate to laugh at some of life’s larger absurdities.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe first and foremost that “the personal is political.” My own core values are in alignment with those of historically marginalized groups fighting for equal rights and dignity, such as BIPOC individuals and LGBTQ+ folks, and I view situations from a person-in-environment perspective. We are facing a mental health crisis of epic proportions and I do not discard the forces of capitalism, white supremacy, racism, discrimination, or institutional and structural failures from the problems and issues that arise in individual, everyday life. Part of our work in therapy can be to uncover mental health from a macro-level perspective as well as from a micro-level, individual lens. This also means that “action is the antidote to despair” and it's imperative to combat isolation and loneliness through community and connection. I also am extremely passionate about challenging ableist perspectives in regard to the stigma of mental health diagnoses and seeking care.
