About My Clients
Life transitions are often what brings people to counseling. Typically, clients feel lost and uncertain. Through the counseling process, individuals, parents, couples, and families are able to refocus on the big matters of their life. Counseling is a collaborative process and my most successful clients are willing and able to identify their needs, openly talk through the thoughts they are experiencing, and able to embrace some suggestions.
My Background and Approach
Trauma Therapy - Adverse Childhood Experiences often replay themselves in adults' lives. I help clients recognize the patterns, locate the root source of pain, and work through components of recovery, including personal responsibility. I often incorporate play and art. Anxiety & Depression - I have extensive training, certificates, and experience mitigating crisis. My goal is to equip you with at least five different tools or techniques that help stave off periods of increased anxiety and/or depression. Psychoeducation can help root out the source of ongoing anxious or depressing thoughts. Couples Counseling - Marriage is a dance and should never be attempted without some form of training. I am certified to provide PREPARE/ENRICH assessments as starting points to couples counseling. Parent Coaching - Every parent needs a village of support to grow in the changing roles of caregiver. I have extensive experience working with new parents and blended families.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I offer a warm and welcoming environment for clients and join them in their pursuit of social-emotional wellness. Clients are accepted and coached in self-identified areas. I work to create a balance of acceptance and gentle challenge. Clients are the change-agent and I partner with them in their goals. In my spare time, you will find me outdoors biking or trekking a path in the woods. I collect heart-shaped items and have found incredible joy at finding these items in nature.
