About My Clients
Do you or your child need help skill building, overcoming a past trauma, or simply just a listening ear? If yes, I can help! My ideal populations include individuals ages 3-50 years with major or minor mental health needs. I enjoy working with clients who are experiencing emotion dysregulation, trauma implications, and/or LGBTQIA+ issues. I enjoy using a family-oriented approach as needed to improve overall functioning regardless of what issues you are looking to overcome.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from Purdue in 2020 with a B.S. in Psychology, & again in 2022 from Marian with a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have 3 years of experience at a residential treatment facility for children/adolescents with behavioral & developmental disabilities where I worked as an administrator, direct support professional, & crisis management assistant. I worked for a semester in an ABA clinic for children with autism spectrum disorder before engaging in research the following semester. The research lab I worked for was studying the efficacy of service dogs on children with autism & their families, as well as on veterans with PTSD. I have presented at a few conferences over everyday advocacy & hidden disabilities. Through my years at Purdue, Marian & in private practice, I have obtained many trainings on things such as suicide, trauma-informed care & LGBTQIA+ needs. I have direct experience working with both neurotypical & neurodiverse clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy services, whether that be mental health therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, vocational therapy, etc. I believe that I can be a sounding board for every client regardless of race, religion, cultural background, or sexual orientation. I want everyone who enters my office to feel welcome and appreciated for discussions they choose to have. I want my clients to feel empowered to change their life as they wish when they leave my office. I want my authenticity to shine through when you meet me, and I want you to enjoy taking time for self-care in my office. After all, self-care isn't selfish! Some fun facts about me: I am a donator at the Julian Center for domestically abused women & children, & a volunteer at Servant's Heart for underprivileged children & displaced populations. I love dogs and coffee, and I love talking to people every single day! If these ring any bells for you, I would love to connect!
