About My Clients
Emma has extensive experience in working with LGBTQIA+ populations, children, teens and young adults, trauma and PTSD, and a range of personality disorders. She is formally trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and is currently working towards her certification. In striving to create a safe space through trauma-informed care, she walks closely alongside her clients through their journey. This allows her to maintain, support, and witness the growth she facilitates.
My Background and Approach
Emma Geisdorf is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Dance/Movement Therapist. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Florida and her Master’s in Science from Pratt Institute, with a specialization in creative arts therapy. Emma is passionate about restoring emotional, physical, and physiological wellness. Emma’s creative and flexible approach with clients makes her an extraordinarily diverse clinician. She uses creative movement, art-making, and musical expression as therapeutic mediums, which allows for flexibility in sessions where words are not always necessary.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Emma believes in providing evidence-based, high-quality, and culturally competent mental health services to her clients.
