About My Clients
I love supporting my clients through their life changes--from new beginnings to getting closure with endings. I help my clients navigate education and job transitions, relationship shifts, and changes in family dynamics. My specialty is in all things anxiety, from panic attacks, generalized anxiety, separation anxiety, OCD, anxious attachment--you name it. I also love working with couples, particularly when anxiety is impacting the relationship.
My Background and Approach
I specifically practice third-wave tenets, including components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (CBT, ACT, and DBT). Thus, I love helping you identify the unhelpful thoughts that are preventing you from achieving your goals while helping you take meaningful action towards the life you want to live. I also practice from a multiculturally-informed lens that considers the entire person and the systems that we operate within. Integrating an awareness of each of my client’s intersecting identities is key as we work together. I began my training at UCLA, where I majored in Psychology and Communication Studies. I then earned my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California before completing my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in supporting and advocating for each and every one of my clients. I take an active approach to my work--I am not a passive bystander. I employ an "empowered acceptance" model. This means that we accept the reality of what is--we don't gaslight or sugarcoat what is. At the same time, if there is dissatisfaction with your current situation, we'll work together to create positive change, both individually and systemically as we can.
