My Background and Approach
I use a strengths based approach to work collaboratively with clients to understand their distress and its origins, to relieve suffering, and move towards healing and reaching their full potential. I believe my cultural and spiritual background ground my ability to approach therapy humbly and holistically with all clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Growing up as a Hindu Indian American in the US of A has shaped me and how I approach my work. However, I don’t mean that it’s shaped me in a way that has limited me to understanding only that particular experience - rather I feel that it has led me to be more open and humble in my approach. I’ve experienced privilege in some ways with this identity, and discrimination in others, and have often felt that this complicated experience is what makes me feel the importance of listening fully to my clients and appreciating the nuance in everyone’s story.
