About My Clients

I work with folks across the adult lifespan to improve their relationships and heal from their past. I believe every patient is unique and has different experiences and circumstances affecting them. I frequently work with folks on topics related to chronic illness (e.g., IBS), health anxiety, OCD, sexual identity, life transitions, climate anxiety, and trauma.

My Background and Approach

I believe that improving your relationship with yourself and balancing your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and energy can help you to reach your fullest potential. No matter what your presenting issues are, you are there as part of the equation. My approach is both practical and insight-oriented, and my goal is to help you understand what ways you can better take care of yourself by providing you the skills you need, and a vision to become who you want to be. My empathetic and compassionate approach to therapy is highly personalized to each patient’s unique needs, strengths, and experiences while also firmly rooted in the evidenced-based principles of CBT, ACT, Clinical Hypnosis, Mindfulness, and psychodynamics.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I want to deconstruct social structures that limit human potential or induce pain and suffering. Gender, Race, Religion, and Sexuality are social constructs that have very real consequences for the world, social groups, and individual lives. As a White cisgender male psychologist, I continually am evaluating how white privilege harms my clients and BIPOC individuals and communities. Similarly, I am evaluating how my social position may harm others whether it's intended or not. I participate in social action and I need to do more. I believe that a psychologist must integrate gender, race, class, and sexuality into their conceptualization of their clients. These intersections are where people live and ignoring oppression perpetuates it and may prevent a client from getting better.
