Grief and loss are a part of the human condition. Grief is typically considered to be brought on by the death of a loved one, but can also be triggered by any significant life-altering loss (such as a divorce or the loss of a job). Grief is a natural response to loss, but that doesn’t make it easy to deal with. Symptoms of grief may include sadness, loneliness, anger, denial, depression and a myriad of other thoughts and feelings. There is no “normal” amount of time for grief to pass, but if you find that your grief is not improving over time or that it is interfering with your everyday life, you may want to consider seeking professional help. A qualified grief counselor can help you to cope with the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and cognitive responses to loss. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s grief experts today.
I work primarily with folks who are: neurodivergent (e.g. autistic, ADHD, or other), chronically ill/disabled (particularly with autoimmune illnesses), queer/LGBTQIAA2S, sexual/gender outsiders, fat-identified and/or hoping to develop a more loving relationship with their body, sex workers, poly folks, and those in non-traditional relationship and family structures. If you've ever been told that you're too much, too negative, or too "in your head," let's talk. I welcome you exactly as you are.

Are you a pragmatic person who values an approach that establishes well-defined objectives and delivers tangible outcomes? I tend to work well with busy people, those who work in tech or other careers requiring an analytical mind, high achievers, who might get stuck in their thoughts, or push themselves too hard. Those who are trying to find meaning amidst the rat race. Those who want to take stuff from therapy and implement it pretty quickly. The issues that I best serve: relationship problems, anxiety, depression, trauma, work-life balance, stress, anger management, finding meaning, and family conflict.

There comes a point for many of us when we realize that we don’t want to face our problems alone. We are human after all, and a part of what defines that humanity is our need for each other. I understand how frightening it can be to let people in and get close. You may tend to give more than you get back. You might feel self-critical. You might not know what it is you're needing. I'm here to join you and to help you find the connection and purpose you may be seeking.

There are many reasons eating disorders are invited into your life. Just as there are many reasons why a person develops an eating disorder, the way you recover will be just as unique. If there was a one-size-fits- all solution, that would perhaps be as deceptive as the problem itself. Whether it’s perfectionism, judgment, loneliness, self-improvement, health, fear, family issues… Together we will discover what invites these problems into your life, and begin to find what recovery means for you.

My clients are individuals, couples, and teens. Family relationships are our greatest joy, and yet... when things aren't working well, can be a near-constant source of frustration, disconnection, and stress. I help improve communication and problem-solving skills so you can work WITH the people in your family, not against them. My clients include moms and dads who are juggling work, home, marriage, friends, kids, and trying to retain (or regain) a sense of self.

Maybe you’re tired of feeling isolated, stuck, or in despair. Your mind may be working overtime, leaving you unbalanced, stressed, and confused. You may feel burnt out from managing your moods, thoughts, or worries. Despite being sensitive, caring, and hardworking, you still don't feel like you are making lasting life changes. You may grapple with low energy, complex life adjustments, or feelings of guilt, shame, or sadness. You are desperate for change yet are also scared of it.

Would you like to spend less time explaining to and educating your therapist about your cultural background and experience so you can focus on your main concerns? Perhaps you want to work on understanding yourself better, developing and nurturing healthy relationships, feeling more confident about yourself, figuring out major life decisions, or living a more fulfilling life. I will help you explore these issues while understanding how your sociocultural experiences have impacted you.

Do you feel overwhelmed by stress, anxiety or defeat, as a result of a significant life change or trauma? Maybe a relationship has ended or a new phase of life has just begun. Perhaps you’re living with the long-term effects of abuse, illness/pain or other traumatic experiences. You may feel unsafe & out of control of your life or emotions. Eventually, these things start to overflow into other areas of life...and yet despite how hard things are right now, you know there’s more to life than this.

I work with women who are struggling with overwhelming anxiety. Sometimes this includes problems with their relationships, their identity, spiritual issues, eating issues, and grief. My clients often come to me wanting to better themselves, but in a different way than they have been trained. They can achieve, tough it out, and make other people happy, but aren’t really happy themselves. They seem FINE on the outside, but anxiety lingers underneath. They want enjoyment, connection, and to be free
