About My Clients

Do you feel alone and unknown while the rest of the world seems to have it all together? Does shame feel like your constant companion? Does God feel like a bully or even worse - a monster? Perhaps you're in a verbally, emotionally, and sometimes physically abusive relationship and feel there's no way out. Or your child is cutting and you feel helpless and lost. If any of these describes you, then let's connect. I want to hear you. Together we can make meaning of your pain and trauma.

My Background and Approach

I am trained as a Trauma therapist. My clinical approach for trauma work is Component Based Psychotherapy (CBP). CBP is a treatment framework that was specifically designed to address the legacy of complex trauma in adult clients. I am also trained in Marriage and Family Therapy. When working with couples and families, I think systemically and use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). For clients with chronic, pervasive, dysfunctional ways of relating to others, I incorporate Time-Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy (TLDP). Importantly, these approaches focus on Attachment Theory; the belief, and assumption that a lot of what is troubling you and your relationships can be traced to your early life. Therefore, I see you not as sick but stuck. Take heart, change is possible!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a Christian, I see you as one made in the image of God. I see this world, with all of its sin, spin, pain, and suffering as the stage of God's story. But, friend, I will not slap a spiritual bandaid on your suffering. I am not going to tell you to "Take two verses and call me in the morning!" My convictions about God, Jesus, Scripture, and the Church are vital sources of joy for me. However, they can be a trigger for others. I get that. Spiritual trauma is a true form of suffering. Religious abuse is unacceptable. I work for you. I will not impose on you my spiritual values. I acknowledge your dignity and will give you the judgment-free respect you deserve.
