Melody MickensClinical Psychologist, PhD
I have been practicing in this field for a total of 12 years. I started my career as a way to better understand others and to help others grow through difficult life experiences. I have trained extensively in behavioral approaches that include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance Committment Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy. I am trained in EMDR and psychodynamic therapy and I am constantly learning more ways to connect with my clients and to help them understand themselves and their experiences. As a provider in rehabilitation psychology, I partner closely with individuals who have had significant injuries (concussion and TBI, spinal cord injury, stroke, amputation) and illnesses. My approach is empathic, non-judgmental, curious, and collaborative. No one is a better expert of your life experiences than you. My hope is to use my skill and perspective to help you overcome any obstacles that have held you back.
