About My Clients
It is my honor to partner with you as you explore the challenges that you have endured and work to overcome them. I understand the hardships that many individuals face pertaining to health, employment, family, faith, and issues pertaining to intersectionality. It is my mission to be a champion for every individual, no matter where they may find themselves in their journey, and to help them overcome the obstacles that stand in their way.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed professional counselor located in Richmond, VA and a proud alumnus of Virginia Commonwealth University where I completed my undergraduate work. I earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health and Professional Counseling from South University, and I am a doctoral candidate at Grand Canyon University where I am currently studying psychology. I work with clients who experience trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, and relational conflict. My counseling approach is faith-based, culturally relevant, and trauma-informed and is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, and narrative therapy. I pride myself on creating an environment that is safe and judgment-free, where the individuals I serve feel seen, heard, and understood. I strongly believe that no one should have to embark upon their healing journey alone. Therefore, I am committed to providing unwavering support to you as you commit to becoming the best version of yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a woman of faith who incorporates Christian principles into the counseling process. I strongly believe in God and acknowledge the significance of His presence in the healing process. Just like the Parable of the Weeds, I believe that good seeds have been planted in your garden of life. Those seeds represent who you are at your core and all that you were created to accomplish, but just like the parable reveals, you have had harmful experiences. Some of those experiences have come at an early age or at the hands of someone who you were supposed to be able to trust. Those challenges have attempted to ruin your harvest and threaten all that you have been predestined to become. Whether there are wounds that you suffered in your childhood or difficulties that you experienced in adulthood- healing is available.
