Depression is a mental health disorder that affects mood, including how you feel, think, and behave. Everyone feels sad sometimes, but when it starts to affect your ability to perform daily tasks and your ability to enjoy things that typically bring you happiness, you may be suffering from depression. The symptoms of depression vary from person to person, but often include feeling miserable without a clear reason why, anxiety, agitation, insomnia or sleeping too much, hopelessness, changes in eating, and/or foggy thinking. Depression may also cause recurrent thoughts of death or suicide (or even a wish that it would all 'stop' in an abstract sense). If you think you might be suffering from depression, a qualified mental health therapist can help. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s depression experts today!

I work with women of all ages, as I am passionate in helping others heal. My specializations include faith, anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, people pleasers, and grief. I firmly believe that the "fit" and the relationship is the most important part of what makes therapy helpful to people. I tend to do well with folks who don't mind going 'deep' - looking at patterns from the past, making connections and insights into how these impact their present behavior, and working from that.

I know it can feel so frustrating, wanting to live, and parts of you are holding you back. While coping skills are important, many of my clients have noticed they still feel stuck even when they are doing what they can to feel better. They tend to find that my ability to hold space for them prepares them for releasing past traumas and hurts through the combination of EMDR and Internal Family Systems. While I come from a faith background, I affirm folks who have suffered religious trauma.

Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

I work with adult individuals, couples, and small groups (think: family members). My clients are typically invested in their growth, want interactive therapy that does not insist on one approach, are open to mindfulness and exploring deeper issues of life and what it means to be them. Most of my clients are pretty curious about themselves, willing to be challenged, want to be seen and heard and validated, and want to do and get something better than what they currently have.
