About My Clients

Are you tired of being judged for just trying to survive? Let's be honest: standard "textbook" therapy doesn't work for everyone. If you're dealing with substance use, trauma, anxiety, or depression, you don't need someone lecturing you from a pedestal. You need someone who gets it. My clients are often the "underdogs"-driven, passionate people who are ready to heal but want to feel genuinely cared for and accepted first.

My Background

I am a clinical social worker with 20 years of experience working primarily with adults navigating complex emotional, relational, and behavioral challenges. Over the course of my career, I have worked in settings that serve people at their most vulnerable, including those struggling with substance use, personality disorders, mood instability, trauma histories, and long-standing relationship patterns that feel impossible to untangle. I am comfortable in the intensity. I do not scare easily, and I do not reduce people to diagnoses. In addition to my private practice, I work on the front lines of recovery in a substance use clinic, specializing in complex, co-occurring disorders (such as addiction mixed with depression). Using evidence-based tools like Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we won't just talk about your goals- we'll reach them.

More About the People I Treat

Much of my work has focused on adults who have been labeled "difficult," "too much," "too sensitive," or "too reactive." Many of my clients have complex trauma histories. Others are high-functioning professionals who look stable on the outside but feel internally volatile, anxious, or chronically dissatisfied. However, when someone is labeled difficult, it usually means one of three things: they feel intensely, they protect themselves aggressively, or they do not comply quietly. These are adaptations that worked at some point. Anger created distance from danger. Control reduced unpredictability. Withdrawal prevented humiliation. Hyper-independence minimized reliance on unreliable people. And overall, they are trying to determine whether it is safe to be real.
