About My Clients
Do you feel like you've been sleepwalking through life? Do you look around and see that you've accomplished everything you were told will make you happy, but there still feels like something is missing? Do you continuously try to make improvements in your life but for some reason feel like Sisyphus? I know exactly how you feel. The frustration of getting so close but once again you find yourself at the bottom, and the cycle repeats. Together, we can get that boulder over the mountain.
My Background and Approach
Are you tired of being asked to name five things you see, four things you feel, three things you hear, two things you smell, and one thing you taste? Are you tired of the same breathing techniques that go out the window when you're triggered and facing discomfort? Good! My goal for my clients is to get to the root of what is happening. Together we explore the stories we are telling ourselves, the isolated memories that are contributing to the panic in our bodies, and process these experiences in a safe environment. The goal is for you to naturally gain access to your own means of functional regulation. I will help you better understand yourself, your choices, your wants and needs, and your processes.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal belief is that everybody can live a fulfilling and peaceful life. I believe that our mental health is the manifestation of biology and environment, and we adopt specific coping mechanisms to help us survive experiences that are incongruent with our wants and needs. By becoming more intimate with our emotional landscape, and learning the language of our emotions, we can begin to live a life that feels like our own. I also believe that misogyny is the backbone of all systems of oppression, and if we can actively face internalized narratives that uphold these systems, the tower of our cards that make up our dysfunctional beliefs will begin to fall.
