You look around and see all these confident, happy, smart people and think, "What's their secret? How can that be me?" Maybe you don't like who you see in the mirror. Or you feel like you just don't have what it takes to be successful in life. You've heard about self-esteem, and you've thought, "How does one get more of that?" Well, by figuring out why you don't see all the good in yourself. Did you just smirk at that? Let's maybe work on that, then?
I believe in blending all of my training together in a way that best meets the individual needs of my very unique clients. As I am trained in many techniques and treatments from a variety of proven, scientific methods, I can offer you a combination of therapeutic tools to meet you where you are ready to start. This allows me to customize your experience instead of having a "one size fits all" approach since "one size fits all" doesn't fit everyone...maybe even anyone.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing psychotherapy is another scientific method of mental health treatment which combines our understanding of brain functioning with the best parts of several therapy treatments. This therapy addresses the memories/events which happened to a client that caused a client to develop the negative or harmful beliefs or thoughts which are at the root of a client's current thinking struggles. EMDR is a common treatment for anxiety, trauma, depression, etc.
CBT is a science based goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment. A direct, practical approach to problem-solving with hands-on tools and homework, CBT helps change patterns of thinking, attitudes, and/or behaviors that are behind your struggles by focusing on the thoughts, beliefs, and emotions that the person is experiencing. It can be a short-term or brief therapy solution for highly motivated, homework loving clients.
No, this isn't only for soldiers and assault survivors. So many more people are living with PTSD and/or CPTSD and don't have a clue it applies to them, often because they do not recognize that they are also a trauma survivor. Cult or religious abuse survivors may have PTSD. People who come from dysfunctional families or who have been bullied. Ever felt fear that your life may end? This could be you.
It feels like too much. Overwhelmed and exhausted, you know you can't go on like this. Something has to change...but what? You're not sure. Doing anything feels impossible. The to-do list grows longer, not shorter. You want to just run away and hide rather than be found out, but you compel yourself through another day, somehow... Maybe you are even really good at helping others, so you don't understand why it's so hard for you to help yourself. Ready for the cycle to reduce or end? Let's talk.
