About My Clients

I am an LGBTQIA+ and neurodiversity-affirming therapist. With a background in schools and special education, I have extensive training and experience working with all kinds of disabilities & within the Gifted and Talented (GT) community, including the overlap of these labels, commonly known as Twice Exceptional or 2E. I also specialize in working with those impacted by mood disorders, depression & anxiety, self-harm behaviors & self-injury, suicidal ideation, & trauma.

My Background and Approach

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, client-centered, and strengths-based. I believe in honoring the unique strengths and perspectives of each individual while providing empathetic support and evidence-based interventions to facilitate healing and personal growth. Through evidence-based techniques and compassionate guidance, I help clients develop coping skills, improve self-awareness, and cultivate resilience. Above all else, I aim to assist clients in discovering the path they’d like to take towards a future they want to build, in pursuit of “a life worth living,” and then begin taking steps in that direction. This requires a strong relationship with a foundation built on trust and understanding in order to foster hope and inspire change. It is also important to me to acknowledge my own lived experiences as a participant in therapy; I know firsthand the struggles and successes that come with the work a client and clinician can do together, from both sides of the equation.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a social worker, I am grounded by my values and beliefs in service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, and the importance of human relationships. I am dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for clients of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions, where their identities are respected, validated, and integrated into therapy. I am committed to recognizing and respecting the diverse ways in which individuals' brains function, and tailoring therapy to support and celebrate these differences rather than pathologizing them. I am anti-diet, will never promote restrictive eating practices, and I am wholeheartedly invested in developing and holding a space that will not judge people based on moralizing food choices or false hierarchies of “good” and “bad” bodies.
