Just like any other group, the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) community faces mental health issues and unique challenges. However, LGBTQ individuals are almost 3 times more likely than others to experience a mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety. Additionally, more than half of individuals who identify as transgender experience depression or anxiety. The LGBTQ community is also at a higher risk for suicide. Young people are even more at risk, as they may experience a lack of support at home and fear, hatred or prejudice in school. If you are a member of the LGBTQ community and are facing mental health challenges, you don’t have to suffer in silence. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s LGBTQ experts and get help today.

Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

Many of the experiences we face in life create barriers to living in the way we would most like. I strive to provide an open and welcoming space for anyone who seeks to heal from past experiences and to more fully acknowledge their authentic selves.
Online Therapy
My clients span the spectrum of gender and sexual orientation, and often come into therapy with specific concerns or goals related to anxiety, depression, trauma, gender, sexual problems, ADHD, attachment, and/or relationships. I've found that so many people are funny, smart, resourceful, and capable beyond their current beliefs about themselves. If you read this and think, "well, not me," then I accept your challenge! ;)

You deserve to find a therapist or clinical supervisor you can be open and honest with, who will accept, affirm, and validate all parts of you. You may be highly sensitive, neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, an artist, a helper or healer, a trauma survivor, or all of the above! We can identify goals and create a plan for success through methods that you feel comfortable with such as: Animal Assisted, Creative Expression, Nature-Based, SoulCollage®, interactive, or concrete skill building.

My clients are people who are thriving in many areas of their lives while also feeling like they are quietly falling apart due to anxiety or thoughts about difficult things they have experienced in the past. They are people from a wide range of backgrounds, including people in the LGBTQ+ community, people in monogamous or non-monogmous relationships, people with rich life experiences to draw on, and usually people with a good sense of humor that may have gotten a little lost along the way.

My clients are the coolest. Not that I'm biased. They're often kinky, within the LGBTQIA+ umbrella, in non-monogamous relationships, with some neurodivergence, and often are pretty sarcastic. Sometimes, they need support when it comes to their executive function and their relationships. Sometimes, they need help with anxiety and depression. As a team, we can navigate the challenges and complexities of life.
