Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that's triggered by a traumatic, scary or dangerous event. PTSD can be caused by either witnessing or experiencing the trauma. Events that sometimes trigger PTSD include everything from sexual assault, war, and violence, to car accidents or other incidents that could cause loss of life. It is not at all uncommon for people who go through something traumatic to have temporary difficulty coping and acute symptoms, but with time, they usually get better. However, if the symptoms last longer than a month, get worse rather than better and affect your ability to function, you may be suffering from PTSD. Symptoms of PTSD may include severe anxiety, anger, nightmares, trouble sleeping, flashbacks to the event, frightening thoughts, avoidance of situations or places, feeling on edge and/or being easily startled. If you think you may be experiencing PTSD, reach out to one of TherapyDen’s specialists today to get help.

Art therapy may differ from what we think of traditional arts based practices since it can be utilized as a tool to further explore unconscious thoughts and emotions, it isn't necessary to have a background in art making, just the desire to explore your psyche. In our work together we will learn from the process of creating and from the artwork itself.

My clients at Walk in Balance Counseling are looking to find balance and joy. I work with folx who have experienced marginalization, sometimes from the very beginning of their lives. They often feel depression and anxiety, and are not sure how to heal. As many families carry cultural and generational trauma, my clients have received the message to fracture and hide parts of who they are for their own safety. I work with clients to reunite those fractures into wholeness.

At Resilience Lab, my clients are those who are used to shouldering the burdens of everyone around them. They might be struggling with family or romantic relationships, postpartum issues (anxiety, depression, OCD), or overcoming past hurtful experiences. Some find themselves at the end of their rope, trying to manage their anger or anxiety. I help these incredible humans recognize their own strengths and value as they process difficult feelings and experiences that might be holding them back.
