Psychologist, Psy.D.Who are you? You may be over worked, in a point of transition in your life, or stuck in a rut. Over the years, I have grown to find that I work with people first, and no two person is exactly alike.
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that's triggered by a traumatic, scary or dangerous event. PTSD can be caused by either witnessing or experiencing the trauma. Events that sometimes trigger PTSD include everything from sexual assault, war, and violence, to car accidents or other incidents that could cause loss of life. It is not at all uncommon for people who go through something traumatic to have temporary difficulty coping and acute symptoms, but with time, they usually get better. However, if the symptoms last longer than a month, get worse rather than better and affect your ability to function, you may be suffering from PTSD. Symptoms of PTSD may include severe anxiety, anger, nightmares, trouble sleeping, flashbacks to the event, frightening thoughts, avoidance of situations or places, feeling on edge and/or being easily startled. If you think you may be experiencing PTSD, reach out to one of TherapyDen’s specialists today to get help.
Life is full of challenges and obstacles. Sometimes they leave us with pieces to put back together, worries about the future, scattered thoughts, and broken dreams. The journey can feel like standing at the bottom looking up at a mountain before you. Healing is a lot of work, but the view from higher up the way is worth every step. I'm here to travel with you--challenging, cheering, and celebrating you on along the way. You got this!

My clients tend to be individuals and couples between 20 and 50 who have noticed an acute or recurrent struggle with effectively managing self and relationships. Some client's concerns are isolated to a specific or current relationships and others have a more systemic struggle that has historically complicated all relationships. My clients have told me they appreciate my compassionate yet direct approach that balances science with emotions and skills with acceptance.
Online Therapy
My clients are individuals living with anxiety, depression, and PTSD related to chronic illness and/or lived experience of violence (individual, community, intergenerational, historical) and are seeking a safe and compassionate space for tending to and processing the past, connecting to the present, growing skills, and healing. I specialize in working with those living with complex medical diagnoses (or multiple symptoms with no diagnosis), challenging prognoses, and "watchful waiting."

Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

Becoming a parent can be a landmine. What is often billed as simple, linear, and seamless can be filled with complicated emotions, experiences, and a sense of overwhelm. I work with people on all points of the birthing path- whether you are just thinking about having a child, trying to conceive, are pregnant or postpartum . This includes people struggling with infertility, pregnancy and infant loss, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and birth trauma, as well as partners and birth workers.

The one thing all my clients have in common is the courage and desire to live differently. Most everyone has found that survival strategies that were once necessary and even helpful, no longer work in the ways they used to and, in some instances rather than being helpful, they have become counterproductive. My clients, ages 18-80, want to understand the origins of old survival strategies, strengthen them where they remain useful, and replace them where necessary.

I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, identity exploration, relationship issues, career development, and life transitions. I give you permission to redirect your focus inward and to get curious about who you are, what moves you, and what feels right for you. Your journey can shift as you go, and sometimes it can be difficult to grant yourself the space, flexibility, and caring attention you need to connect with your honest needs, values, hopes, and motivations.

I push partners to connect more deeply with one another, and to understand more about what they need and desire from each other. Clients tell me that my ability to hold space for each of their perspectives and “translate” their experiences to one another helps them overcome the barriers they feel in communication. I am most successful with clients who want to increase their understanding of their situation, who are willing to change and grow, and who are open to being accountable.

My clients are genuine humans. They walk into my office and expose vulnerable parts of themselves. The folks I work with are especially thoughtful and ready to dive in. They are usually looking for support and an alternative perspective, or approach, to their concerns. We connect together through open conversation, laughter, and sometimes even silence. If this sounds appealing to you, we would likely be a good fit.

I provide trauma-focused individual, family, and group therapy for adults. Typical concerns of the people I work with include managing the effects of traumatic experiences, relationship issues, intense emotions, and grief. Areas of special focus include supporting survivors of sexual violence and adults healing from the effects of child abuse and relational trauma in their families of origin including sexual abuse, incest, neglect, and intimate partner violence.

As a queer person, my work is rooted in anti-racism and social justice with an intersectional feminist lens. This enables me to embrace kink-positivity, CNM/polyam relationships, and sex work. I cater to those wrestling with fat and body positivity. I also look to support caregivers and mental health workers coping with burnout.
Online Therapy
My clients come to me feeling stuck, overwhelmed or lost. Often, they feel like something is wrong with them because they struggle so much to figure out who they are and how to function and feel like they belong in the world and within their relationships. They struggle with anxiety, people-pleasing, and low self-esteem. Many also suffer from religious trauma/spiritual wounds that complicate their sense of self and trust in the world.
