About My Clients

We are all impacted by our lived experiences in helpful and challenging ways. Our lived experiences may be contributing to current anxiety and disconnect from ourselves. I strive to make our bodies safe places to be again, and through exploring the impact of previous experiences finding new meaning and empowerment moving forward. I specialize in trauma, attachment, EMDR, LGBTQ+ and gender affirming care, adoption, and how systems of oppression impact mental health.

My Background and Approach

Many people have been, and continue to be, harmed by systems not made for them, from patriarchy to racism to homophobia, transphobia, and anti-fat bias--to name a few. I want to provide a space for you to explore your unique identity as valid and valuable while identifying harm done through systemic oppression. I include community and social justice framework as a part of my work, recognizing that systems of oppression significantly impact mental health. Therapy is a space to feel safe, heard, seen, and validated as well as a space to grow. It is a collaborative journey where we get to partner together to work towards a life that you feel empowered to live. I utilize a person-centered approach and a trauma-informed attachment-focused lens to foster a safe space to explore how systems and situations have impacted you and how to pursue empowerment in your unique identity. I have a Certified Trauma Professional Certification and enjoy exploring the mind-body connection.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am fat-identified and believe in body liberation for all marginalized bodies. I support the Black Lives Matter movement, support the abolition and defunding of police, and building up communities through mutual aid support. Part of my personal work as a therapist includes activism, advocacy, and staying in touch with local government initiatives to pursue meaningful change. I believe it is non-negotiable to be committed to anti-racist and anti-oppression as a lifestyle and believe this cannot be separated from my clinical work due to the relationship between power, oppression, and mental health. I am committed to supporting the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, including trans youth and their families.
