Meg HrivnakMarriage & Family Therapist, MA
Chronic pain is the perfect storm. The type of storm that can produce depression, anxiety, panic attacks, loneliness, and trauma. As a counselor, I cannot take your pain away, but I can help you with the rest. My hope is that you will view our sessions as a safe place to air your worries and fears, brainstorm inventive ways to learn to live despite the pain, and practice self-advocacy to get the best results from our healthcare system. When I was 12, I developed chronic pain and have battled it ever since. I know this world you are now a part of and have the skills to help you navigate it. My approach tends toward the integrative, with a heavy emphasis on systemic and feminist theories. I graduated in 2014 from East Tennessee State University with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and am currently seeking licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Tennessee.
