Grief and loss are a part of the human condition. Grief is typically considered to be brought on by the death of a loved one, but can also be triggered by any significant life-altering loss (such as a divorce or the loss of a job). Grief is a natural response to loss, but that doesn’t make it easy to deal with. Symptoms of grief may include sadness, loneliness, anger, denial, depression and a myriad of other thoughts and feelings. There is no “normal” amount of time for grief to pass, but if you find that your grief is not improving over time or that it is interfering with your everyday life, you may want to consider seeking professional help. A qualified grief counselor can help you to cope with the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and cognitive responses to loss. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s grief experts today.
Your brain has done an excellent job keeping you safe through so many things. Now the same thoughts and behaviors that kept you safe are no longer doing you much service. Let’s take some time to find those things, honor them, and replace them with new strategies. Family discord, medical illnesses, discrimination, undiagnosed anxiety/adhd, toxic work environments, and the like can all add up to have similar impacts as bigger traumas, especially when dealing with more than one simultaneously.

Are you burdened with feelings that you don't understand? Maybe you are noticing painful patterns in your life that seem to be repeating themselves. Maybe feelings of depression and anxiety have crept up on you, and you don't know how to make them stop. Maybe you're in a relationship that isn't right for you. Maybe you don't even know what "right for you" is. If that sounds like you, I think I can help you shed a little light on those feelings - and find a lot more peace.

I consider it an honor to work with individuals who have experienced a traumatic event or complex childhood trauma, need tools for managing depression or anxiety, or have recently experienced a significant life change such as life altering diagnosis, break up or divorce. I thrive working with adults of all ages from diverse racial, ethnic and religious backgrounds.
I love working with others in the helping professions such as doctors, nurses, fire fighters and other therapists. I find that interacting with the suffering of others takes an emotional toll on those who feel that they are supposed to fix it. Empathy drain and ruminating on clients after work can make it hard to focus on yourself and may even make us want to numb out. I hope to help keep the helpers working, because we certainly need them.
While I am open to working with clients from all populations, my ideal client is one who is open to and ready for change, realizing the current situation isn’t working. I have over 20 years of experience working with families and youth working for non-profit social welfare agencies.

My practice accepts adult clients beginning at age 20 years old. I specialize in areas of depression, anxiety, relationships, LGBTQ, grief and bereavement, divorce, perinatal mood/anxiety disorders, parenting, and life adjustments.

You feel anxious and it's hard to shut your brain off. People tell you to relax, but it's not that easy for you. You've worked hard to get where you are, but it's hard to sit back and enjoy it. Your standards for yourself feel too high, and you question how long you can keep this up. You tend to doubt yourself and your abilities and look to other people to reassure you. It's hard to take up space, feel confident, and speak your truth. A better way forward is possible in therapy.

Maybe anxiety has made your world small and lonely, or depression and feelings of worthlessness have kept you disconnected from yourself and your loved ones and have held you back from the life you want. Perhaps you've developed ways of engaging with others and with yourself that once protected you in difficult or traumatic circumstances; however, these patterns now result in pain that is becoming unbearable. Whatever suffering brings you here, you don't have to bear it alone.

I work with clients experiencing anxiety, relationships challenges, stress, PTSD, transitions, spiritual abuse and trauma, and self esteem issues. I work with clients that have been diagnosed or suspect a diagnosis of neurodivergence, such as ADHD and/or autism. I strive to provide a safe space that supports, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and all people.

The to-do list is never-ending and what’s done never feels quite enough. You are diligent about keeping on top of things and it’s gotten you pretty far. But, you find yourself asking “I’m running myself ragged for this?” Well, you are not alone. My clients are busy, professionals who feel stressed, anxious, and struggle with imposter syndrome. They seem put together on the outside but struggle with burnout and feeling like they are one step away from catastrophe.

You want people to think you have it all together, but deep down you’re struggling with anxiety that holds you back from living the way you want to. You may be fed up with overthinking and people-pleasing, feeling overwhelmed by making decisions or setting boundaries, or feeling out of control of your life. You might not even remember a time things didn’t feel this way. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready to take control of your anxiety.
