About My Clients

You're grieving a loss that seems unbearable right now. Your life has immediately and drastically changed as a result of the loss. You feel like you can never come up for air when these "waves" hit you and knock you down hard. You turn toward others so they can witness your grief, sometimes offering their own opinions that don't make you feel heard and validated. You might sometimes feel like you're not understood and questioned "why you're still grieving" this loss.

What I Specialize In

I specialize in working with adults who are experiencing or grieving a loss of some kind in their life that is impacting their ability to heal, function at work and in daily tasks, and find their "new purpose". I am a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist (CGRS) and am working on getting certified as a Grief Educator this summer of 2024. I utilize a variety of approaches in your healing journey to manage the grief. These approaches include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Self-Compassion, Brainspotting, Grief Recovery Method and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). My goal is for you to find your joy and purpose again in life so that you can heal and manage your grieving process. I have experience in numerous areas that correlate with grief including anxiety, depression, life transition issues, a recent cancer diagnosis, a chronic illness, divorce or relationship break up, and infidelity. I have been helping people in the counseling world for nearly 15 years.

Why I Became a Therapist

Throughout my life, I have experienced numerous losses and struggled with the pain. I know what it’s like to experience many of these types of losses (divorce, death of numerous loved ones, chronic illness, cancer in my family and friends, life transitions such as moves across the country, burnout, aging parents to chronic illness/dementia, and sexual abuse. When I lost my cousin to a drowning in Canyon Lake when he went missing for several weeks, I found myself helping my family members manage their grief by educating them on how to cope with the loss of our beloved family member. I discovered at this time that I wanted to specialize in working with clients experiencing some sort of grief and loss in their lives. I too, have found therapy to turn my life around and to move beyond the losses.
