About My Clients

Are you a neurodivergent or highly sensitive person (HSP) who struggles with feeling overwhelmed and exhausted all the time? Does it feel like you get hijacked by your emotions and past trauma plays over and over in your mind? I get it. The world leads us to believe that if we struggle with intense emotions, overwhelm or letting go of the past, there must be something wrong with us. I’m here to tell you that you’re not broken, the way you feel is not your fault, and healing is possible.

My Background and Approach

All of the approaches we’ll use in your sessions are backed by science and research and are proven to be effective in bringing relief to folks struggling with ADHD and trauma. A big part of my therapy style is helping you understand how your brain works a bit better. Once you get a handle on how your body and brain respond to stress and trauma, you’ll see that your struggles aren’t character flaws — they're pretty much how any of us would react to tough stuff. For instance, have you ever caught yourself saying things like “What’s wrong with me? Why am I so scatterbrained? Why can’t I just let this go?” Therapy helps you go from thinking, “What is wrong with me? Why can’t I handle this?” to “Oh, dang. This is just my brain trying to protect me. I’ve got this.” Our sessions may focus mostly on talking things through, while other sessions might focus on processing trauma or practicing coping strategies to help soothe your mind and body.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I'm passionate about creating an inclusive, LGBTQIA2S+ allied and affirming therapy space dedicated to supporting folks from all walks of life. I show up to sessions as myself, and my hope is that you’ll feel like you can do the same. You won’t see me in a blazer, nodding with a straight face and scribbling notes like therapists on TV. My favorite work attire is a Taylor Swift hoodie, yoga pants and a messy bun. I’m not perfect, and I don’t pretend to be. When you work with me, you’re getting an actual human on the other side of the screen (who also happens to have ADHD!). I don’t have a poker face, and I call it like I see it (in a gentle way and often with a healthy dose of humor). I believe therapy is a place where you can laugh, cry, be mad - you name it. In therapy with me, you’ll get to explore what makes you tick—your triggers, your strengths, and all the stuff that makes you, well…YOU. And you’ll get to do this in a judgment-free zone with someone who totally gets it.
