About My Clients
My patients tend to be “lovable weirdos” -- someone who might feel out of place or doesn’t always feel like they belong. Maybe you’re the “black sheep” in your family. You might identify as an Introvert or as a creative or artistic person. Or you might be neurodivergent or have a diagnosis of ADHD or an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Regardless, you find yourself longing to connect more with others and to feel more confident as your authentic self.
My Background and Approach
I practice a long-term kind of talk therapy known as psychoanalytic psychotherapy or psychoanalysis. This means that I really take my time to get to know you. We might meet multiple times a week. We will talk about everything from dreams to disappointments, including our developing relationship. This kind of therapy can sometimes feel awkward and uncomfortable. That’s okay! We will take our time and discover the best way for us to work together. As a result, we learn a lot about you through our interactions, understand you more deeply, and find new ways for you to experience yourself. I've trained in intensive environments like Cedar-Sinai Medical Center, as well as in community mental health clinics. I also teach and supervise new therapists. I am currently a candidate in psychoanalysis at the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Study (LAISPS).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in kindness and authenticity as the foundations for real connection and growth. It's never too late to have a new experience of yourself and to become the kind of person you've always wanted to be. Unfortunately, we live in a culture and society that rewards conformity and punishes people who are different -- this kind of oppression can lead to all kinds of mental health problems and difficulty establishing satisfying relationships that allow you to be the "real" you.
