About My Clients

If you're really hard on yourself, often feel anxious, have experienced a loss, or are ready to look at a past that you worked really hard to get through but haven't had the space to emotionally process, we might be a good fit. If some of that is true and you're curious about mindfulness, interested in gaining a deeper understanding of yourself or seeking support caring for old or new grief, we'll probably be a good fit!

My Background and Approach

I've spent much of my time as a therapist supporting the LGBTQ+ community & clients seeking support with grief and loss. I specialize in navigating the complex and ever-evolving emotions within grief. Caregiving, death & dying and loss have been meaningful themes in my work as a therapist and former hospice social worker, as well as in my personal life. My approach to therapy is relational and collaborative, which means I care a lot about building our relationship and being a compassionate, reliable presence in your life. During therapy, I often utilize mindfulness, ACT, IFS, self-compassion, EMDR and existentialism. On a logistical note, I am in-network with Aetna for North Carolina residents through Alma. For other insurance providers and residents of Texas, I am an out-of-network provider. I am happy to talk through submitting for reimbursement for our sessions, please feel free to reach out with questions regarding insurance and current sliding scale availability!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My beliefs are rooted in body liberation, anti-racism and feminism. I strive to offer therapy that is LGBTQ+ knowledgeable and celebratory, and affirming of neurodiversity, CNM, and Polyamory. In and outside of therapy, I care about justice. I understand that it will take time for me to earn the trust necessary for healing to happen, especially from those whose identities have been historically marginalized in the field of mental health and society at large. In addition to therapy, I love listening to podcasts while cooking, watching my dog simply exist, being at a beach and enjoying local coffee shops. Prior to becoming a therapist, I studied Voice and Music Education. Please feel free to reach out, I'm happy to answer any questions you may have on a free introductory call!
