About My Clients
Somewhere across the course of your life, you may have noticed your thoughts become harsh or intrusive, your emotions overwhelming, relationships difficult, and you may have lost attuned awareness to your own body. Trauma leaves us feeling fragmented; Mood disorders misconstrue our self of self; and anxiety distracts us from what is really important. The good news is that when we pay attention, these experiences and symptoms provide lots of information to guide you back to your true self.
My Background and Approach
The word psychology translates to "study of soul". The word therapy is Greek for "cure". I received my MA in Counseling Psychology from the Pacifica Graduate Institute and specialize in Depth Psychology. This means that I can help you look underneath the surface of your symptoms to understand where they come from and what caused them to develop. I utilize a psychodynamic approach that looks at the foundations of childhood and past experiences to see how unconscious patterns, motivations, or desires are affecting your present thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviors. In the tradition and teachings of Carl Jung, we will utilize dream analysis, expressive arts, and use of metaphor to gain insight and understanding. As a trained yoga teacher and mindfulness meditation instructor, we will bring gentle awareness to the body, and compassion to the mind and emotions.
