While a studying clinical mental health counseling at Johns Hopkins University, I selected CBT as my preferred theoretical orientation. I have applied CBT interventions with clients and found that it has been one of the most successful approaches to help clients. I naturally believe we must observe our thinking patterns to understand, reframe, and improve our mental health.

I attended an EMDR 3-day extensive, in-person training which provided me with my EMDR therapist certification. I have applied EMDR in counseling sessions and witnessed how EMDR has significantly improved peoples mental health.

The person-centered approach is my natural personality style. Being a judgmental therapist has always been my approach with clients.

Anxiety is one of the most common mental health symptoms I have treated in therapy. I use an integrated approach of different techniques (including mindfulness breathing) and have successfully treated clients concerns about anxiety.

Not only did I struggle at a teenager growing up here in the USA, but I have 3 years experience working with adolescents and their parents to help young people feel more confident about themselves, improve performance levels at school, and develop meaningful goals. Working with adolescents is one of my favorite groups of people to work with.

I am an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist. I received one of the best trainings that taught me how to effectively process trauma-related issues with clients. I am also in the process of getting trained as an Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist. I have witnessed how IFS has helped clients bring healing to their inner emotional world and liberate them from living in past traumatic events and into a new light of self-enlightenment.

For the past 5 years in the mental health field I have helped people understand, identify, and grow through self-esteem issues. I have found as a therapist that self-esteem issues is one of the core factors that contributes to peoples mental health concerns. This is a very serious issue and one that I handle very gently.

When it comes to working with different types of addictions some starting question are: 1. What is the person trying to escape? 2. Where is the emotional pain coming from? 3. What purpose does the addiction serve? 4. What was life like before the addiction? I help people emotionally navigate through these questions and arrive to their own inner-clarity and truth about themselves and the relationship they have with their substance/behavior addictions.

Emotions play a critical role in therapy and our daily lives. I help individuals truly understand how their emotions play an integral role in their lives and how they can connect with their emotions in a way that allows them to become empowered by them. This is what is meant by experiential therapy and putting clients in the driver seat of their therapeutic experience.

I'm a trauma-informed clinician and adhere to the principles of providing effective trauma support mental health services.

Depth therapy is about committing to the inward journey to help us better understand our personalities, impulses, tendencies, and unconscious thoughts and behaviors. We are all very complex beings and taking the long-term journey is sometimes needed to break through our own defenses and self-defeating behaviors and thoughts. When negative core beliefs are deeply imbedded in our psyches it takes some time to unlearn behaviors and thoughts and grow from our vulnerabilities.
