Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that's triggered by a traumatic, scary or dangerous event. PTSD can be caused by either witnessing or experiencing the trauma. Events that sometimes trigger PTSD include everything from sexual assault, war, and violence, to car accidents or other incidents that could cause loss of life. It is not at all uncommon for people who go through something traumatic to have temporary difficulty coping and acute symptoms, but with time, they usually get better. However, if the symptoms last longer than a month, get worse rather than better and affect your ability to function, you may be suffering from PTSD. Symptoms of PTSD may include severe anxiety, anger, nightmares, trouble sleeping, flashbacks to the event, frightening thoughts, avoidance of situations or places, feeling on edge and/or being easily startled. If you think you may be experiencing PTSD, reach out to one of TherapyDen’s specialists today to get help.

Whether a part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community or an ally, friend, or family member I offer individual therapy services through telehealth / video appointments to help with life adjustments and transitions. I am on a waitlist for in-person services. We take Oregon Health Plan (OHP) but are only in-network with IHN (Lincoln County) and Open Card at this time.

I strive to provide a collaborative, healing space for clients who have shared that they have been misunderstood, oppressed, or let down by important people in their lives. You deserve to have support, and to have someone who will listen to you, respect your autonomy, and prioritize your needs. I have helped many motivated individuals and couples improve their vulnerability in communication, reduce their experience of anxiety and depression, and work towards more open sexual expression.

Difficulty managing emotions? Feeling disconnected from others? Overwhelmed by shame, guilt, or worthlessness? You're not alone. I see you! You want to move on..of course! Nobody wants to feel this way. But these symptoms are so unpredictable. You never know when they'll show up & hijack your body. You're spending a ton of energy managing them, numbing yourself, or trying to feel alive. And you're losing precious time for the things you love. You're not going to let it control you anymore!

Maybe you noticed -- Nobody handed you a how-to manual how to do this thing called life? My approach to supporting others is to help bring your sacred individuality into view so we can both see the ways life sent you prepared to be happy and to make a difference. Then, usually in informal ways, we work to customize your how to live manual to build on these strengths.

My ideal client is motivated to work on their material outside of sessions and is open to understanding how cultural forces play into individual struggles.
