About My Clients
Many of my clients grew up in environments shaped by addiction, abuse, or emotional neglect. They may feel disconnected, struggle with self-worth, or carry burdens that aren’t theirs to hold. They want to rewrite the stories that no longer serve them, and reclaim the strength that’s always been theirs. Whether you’re processing complex trauma, navigating life transitions, or simply longing to feel more grounded, at Whole Soul Therapy, you’re invited to heal whole—mind, body and soul.
My Background and Approach
I’m Whitney Sherer (she/her), a Licensed Professional Counselor and trauma specialist based in Oregon. With a decade of experience in community mental health, I founded Whole Soul Therapy to offer a compassionate space for adults healing from trauma, anxiety, depression, and emotional dysregulation. My approach blends EMDR, DBT, inner child work, and somatic therapy, always rooted in attachment-based care. Whole Soul Therapy was born from both professional expertise and personal understanding. I grew up around substance abuse and domestic violence, and I deeply understand the needs of those who matured too soon. I believe healing is not linear—it’s layered, creative, and deeply personal. I also offer LPC supervision and design calming therapy journals and psychoeducational tools to support healing beyond sessions. Here, you’re not just another client on a schedule. You’re seen. You’re heard. You’re supported. This is a space where your soul can find its way back to wholeness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe every person carries innate wisdom and resilience, even when it’s buried beneath trauma or survival patterns. I honor the courage it takes to revisit the past, rewrite internal narratives, and reclaim your voice, I truly believe that we are shaped by our stories but not bound by them. My work is rooted in trauma-informed care and shaped by years of advocacy, including volunteering at a domestic violence shelter. I strive to create spaces where clients feel seen, heard, and never judged. Healing is inseparable from social justice, and I hold an anti-oppressive lens and welcome all identities, experiences, cultures and truths with openness and respect. I understand that creativity can be a healing force, expressive tools such as imagery, metaphor, movement, and design can unlock insight, regulation, and self-compassion. I hold deep reverence for the parts of us that were silenced, shamed, or neglected—and believe they are worthy of love, repair, and belonging.
