My Background and Approach
Whether you have a specific reason for coming to therapy, or just feel like something isn't right, your needs are important to me. As a trauma informed therapist, my priority in care is my client's sense of safety and control. Working together, we can use my expertise in how our brains and bodies work, and your expertise in how you work to create some lasting change. Through tools like EMDR, which can help to heal some of those old, painful hurts, we will be able to honor that pain and heal it. Through focusing on mindfulness practices as well as helping you to identify destructive thought distortions, we can start to create some real impact. All of this is wrapped in self compassion and acceptance because shame has no place in your life, starting in my office.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I highly value your inherent worth as a human being. I believe that you have value simply because you have air in your lungs. This has sprung a passion in me for social justice, for advocating for people who cannot advocate for themselves, and for gentle yet firm healing. I believe that we are resilient and strong creatures, who can overcome more than we know. I want you to be proud of who you are and of the journey you're on.
