About My Clients
While Whitney has worked with folks of varying identities, her clinical speciality is in working with LGBTQIA+ clients and women identified people. She has a particular clinical interest in relationship challenges, gender, sexuality, personal discovery, and unpacking systemic and individual trauma.Whitney’s prior experience in clinical mental health has offered her the opportunity to work across many client matters and diagnoses.
My Background and Approach
Trauma, stress, and oppression can make every aspect of life - from day to day tasks to forming new relationships, to living the life you desire- feel nearly impossible. All too often, these painful experiences and challenges can steer us away from our goals, supports, and values. As a therapist, I collaborate with clients to explore their experiences and identities to better understand how the past may be influencing their present. I believe that all clients are capable of living a value driven, fulfilling life - I simply help by holding space for discovery, compassion, and healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I aim to create a space that feels safe and nourishing for clients of all identities, so that they are able to move from a place of surviving to thriving. I practice trauma-informed, client-centered and culturally competent care that seeks to empower my clients to grow. I specialize in treatment of trauma survivors, particularly LGBTQIA and women identified folks.
