To all of you worriers, perfectionists, and self doubters- I understand how hard it can be to overcome the thoughts that creep in. Have you found yourself overthinking to the point that your sleep is affected? Are your anxiety symptoms causing you to dread the pounding heart, shortness of breath, and instinct to run? I don't want you to have to suffer from any of these symptoms anymore. There are a myriad of ways to gain insight and control over these struggles which you can learn and master.
My Background and Approach
Together, we will explore your individual experiences and gently uncover what it is that is standing in your way of feeling and living your best life. Since everyone is different and there is no one size fits all approach, I have an eclectic approach to therapy and pull from many different evidence based methods like CBT, EFT, and somatic therapy. I am solution focused and we will start with the present and how to get control over your thoughts and body in the moment. We will address how your brain works during times of stress so you will understand what is happening when you feel anxious and how the techniques you will learn work to interrupt anxiety/ depressive symptoms and bring relief. We will uncover hidden triggers to help you build self awareness and resolve pent up feelings to gain strength and resilience to diminish the frequency of attacks and gain emotional resiliance for the future.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we all possess enormous untapped potential and that growth is always possible. I think that we are born into the world with certain predispositions and our personalities are formed by our enviroments and those genetic influences. I like to believe that we are all doing our best with what we have available internally and externally at any given time and if we don't like our best, we should work to try and change it. I experienced significant loss and trauma when I was young. Through my own therapy, I learned how to break free from paralyzing fear and anxiety so it no longer had any control over me. I want everyone to have the ability to break free from what is holding them back and experience the life they deserve.
