About My Clients
I work with women on breaking toxic relationship patterns they have inherited from their caregivers, learned from societal expectations, and outdated gender role assumptions. These unhealthy patterns play out in various ways throughout life, whether we are conscious of them or not. Being miserable with ourselves and the people around us while living an unfulfilling life just isn't a realistic option for us. My clients want more out of life than just "the way it always has been."
My Background and Approach
My undergraduate degree is in Studio Art from the University of South Alabama. I also received my masters degree from University of South Alabama in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I prefer to use unconventional tools (like astrology, tarot, the Enneagram, and Human Design) to help my clients build self-awareness and to learn to empathize with themselves and the people in their lives. I believe in the power of authenticity and being genuine with my clients, and that in doing so, I make space for the client to show up in the same way. I also deeply value being a safe space for my clients so they can learn new ways of living, relating to the people in their lives, and the world around them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I know how difficult it truly is to basically start with nothing but the outdated scripts we've been given on how our lives "should" look. I don't subscribe to the old ideas when trying to envision a life I want to live, and I know other people need help in breaking those old patterns as well. You don't have to go on this journey alone. I personally believe that anyone can benefit from counseling. I am very passionate about my field and striving to be the best clinician I can be in order to bring about change in the lives of the clients I get to work with. I strongly believe in the need for equality of all people, regardless of any differences and strive to increase my own understanding and awareness whenever and wherever possible. My practice is inclusive and supportive of all people-regardless of beliefs, identities, or situation.
