About My Clients
Are you currently in transition attempting to figure out what your next move should be or how to navigate current challenges? Do you feel anxious and/or depressed more often than not? Do you use alcohol and/or substances to cope with past traumas or current stressors? Or maybe you're finally ready to live your life on your own terms and need support to start?
My Background and Approach
I have a Master's degree in marriage and family counseling/therapy and am licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Alabama. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor and working to see clients in other states. I have varied experience working with adults, children, and families but love helping those with systemic issues such as substance use, body image, family issues, relationships, and life transitions. I specialize in treatment of anxiety and depression, couples, and attachment wounds. I have experience helping clients navigate grief/loss, pregnancy and infant loss, substance use, gender identity issues, eating disorders, and traumatic stress.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a passionate individual who believes in serving others and bridging the gap between access, resources, and knowledge related to mental healthcare and overall functioning. I believe in traditional values but advocate for others to live their best lives according to their own value systems. As an ally to the LGBTQ+ community, I provide gender affirming care and value safety and inclusion. As a Black woman, I am aware of social issues that plague my community and the impact of systemic racism on daily functioning. I volunteer as a board member for a non-profit organization that serves underprivileged teenaged girls and organizations to promote increased access to mental healthcare to marginalized populations.
