About My Clients
Are you seeking a deeper understanding and a deeper sense of connection with yourself and in your relationships? Have you and a loved one struggled to communicate lately? Do you miss the relationship you used to have? I work with individuals who are navigating relationships, mental health challenges, and identity, as well as families and couples going through periods of change and disconnection, to find and express their more authentic selves and to find connection again.
My Background and Approach
My approach to counseling is person-centered, warm, authentic, and affirming. Past clients have described their experiences working with me as calming and nonjudgemental. I prioritize developing an authentic relationship with clients, where they can feel heard and are safe to discover and express the most true version of themselves. I draw inspiration from nature and root my work in an understanding of neurobiology. I also draw from a more solution-focused model, developing tools to help with current challenges and collaborating on goals and specific steps towards change. I am passionate about working with parents, especially new parents, and with families going through a period of disconnection or change. In my work with individuals, my areas of focus are anxiety, depression, life changes, loneliness and isolation, and relationship issues.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy is most beneficial when it draws our attention to and nurtures the most positive aspects of ourselves, and helps us to deepen and strengthen our relationships with ourselves and with others. I believe every person brings with them the desire and potential for personal growth and change, and that we all grow through and toward connection. Outside work, I’m also a loving father, spouse, and sibling. I recharge by gardening, sitting in nature, reading, or taking a swim. If you’d like to learn more, please feel free to set-up a free 15 minute consultation with me. I’d love a chance to learn more about what you’re going through and how I can help. I look forward to meeting you.
