I work in the Intensive Outpatient setting where most of my group members are suffering from depression. I have treated dozens of teens who have suicidality and are self-harming. I am experienced in risk assessment and determining the level of care for individuals suffering from depression and also have had great success at treating acute levels of depression in clients.

Due to my background in Intensive Outpatient programming with unstable teens, I have treated many individuals with mood disorders. I am experienced in treatment protocols that can improve mood stability such as DBT and also can refer clients for medication management to get the most comprehensive care possible.

Anxiety is a mechanism built wired into our brain to protect us. However, any individuals suffer from anxiety that is not protective and is crippling. I have experience in helping people work through their anxiety, setting themselves up for success in reducing triggers, and also building skills that will help them properly confront their anxiety when they have to face their fears.

I have recent Motivational Interviewing training. I use this technique to get commitment and buy-in from clients who want to change but are struggling with actually committing to change.

I am a DBT-trained clinician who uses the DBT model in my everyday job. Coming from an Intensive Outpatient background we use daily check-ins from patients to collect data, teach group skills classes, and combine individual therapy as well to create an intense treatment that produces results. I integrate these same practices into my individual therapy sessions to help people build distress tolerance and improve emotion regulation.

I believe in the cognitive model that asserts that our thoughts produce emotions that lead to behaviors. If we are unhappy with the behaviors then we need to improve the thought process and learn how to also improve our emotion regulation.
