Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a brain disorder that is typically characterized by a lack of impulse control, an inability to focus and pay attention, and hyperactivity. ADHD most commonly emerges in children and teens and can continue into adulthood. In fact, ADHD is the most common mental health disorder diagnosed in young people and sufferers often have trouble paying attention in school. ADHD must be diagnosed by a qualified clinician. In addition to medical interventions, seeing a mental health practitioner who specializes in the treatment of ADHD can help patients and their families better cope with many of the symptoms. Have you been researching autism and neurodiversity? Do some of the traits and characteristics of autism resonate with your own personal experiences? Maybe you've taken tests for autism online or heard people on social media give competing perspectives on what autism is. I help people sift through all the information to better understand their own neurodiversity. As a licensed psychologist, I can formally diagnose autism and provide you with actionable recommendations based on your goals.

Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

I enjoy working with clients who are up for a little work. I have a strong belief in the idea that therapy isn't something that is done to us, rather something we must take an active role in to see any true progress. I view therapy as another way to add more tools to our toolbox in an effort to better ourselves. My goal isn't to have a client for life; it is to teach the skills needed for my client to be their best selves, even after we have finished working together.

I know it can feel so frustrating, wanting to live, and parts of you are holding you back. While coping skills are important, many of my clients have noticed they still feel stuck even when they are doing what they can to feel better. They tend to find that my ability to hold space for them prepares them for releasing past traumas and hurts through the combination of EMDR and Internal Family Systems. While I come from a faith background, I affirm folks who have suffered religious trauma.
