About My Clients
I work best with young adults, international students, and individuals navigating anxiety, identity, and relationship challenges. Many of my clients feel stuck between expectations and their own needs, struggle with self-doubt or perfectionism, or are going through life transitions. I also support those with cross-cultural experiences, family dynamics, and a desire to better understand themselves while building more fulfilling and authentic lives.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University. I have experience working with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. As a bilingual (Mandarin/English) therapist, I also support clients from cross-cultural and immigrant backgrounds who may be balancing different identities, expectations, and family dynamics. My approach is grounded in client-centered therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with a trauma-informed lens. This means I aim to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space while also helping you develop practical tools to better understand your thoughts, emotions, and patterns. Together, we work toward increasing self-awareness, building coping skills, and creating meaningful, lasting changes in your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, I value authenticity, cultural humility, and creating a space where all parts of you are welcome. As someone with a cross-cultural background, I deeply understand what it can feel like to navigate between different identities, expectations, and systems. I am passionate about supporting individuals who may feel unseen, misunderstood, or pressured to meet external standards at the cost of their own well-being. I believe therapy is not about “fixing” you, but about helping you reconnect with yourself, build self-trust, and create a life that feels meaningful and aligned. I am committed to anti-oppressive and inclusive practices, and I strive to create a space that affirms diverse identities, including race, culture, gender, and sexuality.
