About My Clients
You are at a decision point. A marriage that may or may not survive. A drink that became three. A breakup you did not see coming. You manage it well enough that nobody has said anything. I work with high-achieving individuals and couples — anxiety, depression, burnout, perfectionism, imposter feelings, self-doubt, guilt, shame— and with men: irritability, shutting down, being told you're not there even when you're in the room. Together, we figure out what's going on and what to do about it.
My Background and Approach
With 30 years of experience in hospital psychiatry and private practice, I bring deep clinical expertise to our sessions. As an LCSW, certified drug and alcohol counselor (CADC), and Level 3 Gottman-trained therapist, my approach is highly integrative. I blend psychodynamic insight (understanding why you hurt) with practical, evidence-based tools from CBT, ACT, and DBT (learning how to change it). If addiction is impacting your relationship, we treat both the substance use and the marriage in the same room. I also use Feedback-Informed Treatment to adjust our work and help you get results faster.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
People have always fascinated me- what is really going on underneath what they show to the world. My clients have been my greatest teachers; they continue to inspire and humble me every day. I believe change is possible, no matter how daunting your current situation may seem. My values sit with what the research calls the common factors: it is the relationship, rather than the technique, that makes therapy work - and I never stop learning, so you get what actually helps. I am a perfectionist who knows the self-doubt and the inner critic from the inside, so when you tell me yours is loud, I will not treat it as an abstraction. This is the one space in your week where you don't have to hold it together or perform. I am warm, challenging when called for, a little irreverent, and as raw as life itself - I will tell you what I actually think, and clients say that is why they stay. I would like to hear what's going on with you. Send me a message.
