About My Clients
Have the recent events caused your family to become overwhelmed with stress? Has parenting become more of a challenge than an accomplishment? Has your child or teen started to show behaviors that leave you feeling concerned? I’m here to help you and your family recharge its batteries and grow into its full potential. I work with all ages and help families understand how to thrive, no matter where they are in life.
My Background and Approach
As a LMFT, I regard the family as a living, breathing, system. It is in our relationships, that we discover our true power, yet may face our toughest hardships. My goal is to be with you to process those hardships, and to create an upgraded family system that works together in the future, rather than apart. Aside from family work, I help individuals discover their purpose in their relationships, while also growing as a separate individual. When I meet a new person, I want to get to know them both as an individual, and a member of their relationships. By working on ourselves, we can see our relationships grow as well. I use a combination of approaches, such as CBT, mindfulness techniques, and experiential therapy, in order for you to receive a collective experience in the therapy room, while also having skills to take home with you. I use art, activities, and traditional talk therapy to accomplish this task.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My simple philosophy is this: Everyone already has strengths inside themselves, we just need to bring them into light. I will walk with you, or your family, through the journey, but it is a journey we must all take together. I am a Anti-Racist Ally and LGBTQ+ affirming. As a individual, outside of the therapy room, I activate for social change, and structural change, in a world that is not kind to everyone. Growing up in a military family, I have traveled to and lived in many different states. I understand individuals who may feel lost, stressed, or unwelcome moving into the South. I want to heard your story and your hardships, and I want to take that journey with you, no matter how many turns it takes. Based on my upbringing, I also have a soft spot for working with military personal and their families. I want military dependents to know they have a voice, and to give them a space to feel heard.
