About My Clients
I work with LGBTQ+ individuals and Black and Brown adults navigating grief, trauma, identity, anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges. My clients often seek a space where they can be fully seen, build resilience, reconnect with their strengths, and create meaningful change without having to explain or minimize who they are.
My Background and Approach
My approach is shaped by my background in clinical social work, public health, research, community advocacy, and the healing arts. I hold a PhD in Social Work and an MPH in Community Health Interventions, bringing more than 15 years of experience working alongside diverse and historically marginalized communities. I practice from a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive perspective. I believe our mental health is influenced not only by our individual experiences, but also by our relationships, identities, communities, and the systems we navigate every day. In therapy, I integrate evidence-based practices with creativity, compassion, and practical strategies for change. I especially value resilience—helping you recognize what has carried you this far while developing new tools for where you want to go. My style is warm, collaborative, authentic, and direct, creating space for both vulnerability and growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe healing begins when people feel seen, heard, and valued for who they truly are. Our identities, cultures, relationships, communities, and lived experiences all shape how we move through the world. I believe in the power of resilience, creativity, connection, and self-determination—and that therapy should honor your strengths while creating room for growth. I am deeply committed to affirming LGBTQ+ and Black and Brown communities and creating a space where you do not have to minimize, explain, or apologize for who you are.
