About My Clients
Things have been tough lately for our community. But we come from a long history of survivors and thrivers. Are you wondering what changes (in action & mindset) could benefit you? What additional support and resources could help? I look forward to learning more about you, your life experiences & strengths. Then we can resource additional insights & tools to help you feel more grounded and set up for growth as you go forward.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience helping individuals on a variety of challenges including addictions, disordered eating, trauma, depression/anxiety, self-esteem, grief/loss, LGBTQI+ identity, career transitions & health concerns. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago & Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration (now Crown School of Social Work). I have worked in corporate, higher education & hospital settings and am amazed by what therapy can bring to someone’s life having experienced this personally and as a practitioner. I offer an empathetic and warm approach focused on creating an environment of honesty, encouragement and safety to access deeper aspects of oneself and live a more full life. I view therapy as a collaboration where we work together to build upon your personal strengths and resources to help you heal.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am non-judgmental and open to learning about how to help you. You (and all of us in the LGBTQ+ community) deserve to be seen, heard, supported and to thrive. I believe that our community cannot and will not be silenced. And that this starts by taking care of ourselves. Joy is indeed revolutionary!
