About My Clients
Are your emotional reactions getting in the way of achieving your goals? Are you a cancer survivor or do you have health challenges that others don't understand? Are there painful moments from your past holding you back? I specialize in helping people who are experiencing overwhelming emotions or have been through devastating circumstances. I create a safe and caring environment for you to explore your experiences. I teach coping skills to help you manage emotions or get through illness.
My Background and Approach
As a multicultural person who grew up in Jamaica, Canada and the United States, I have long been fascinated with people, their lives and experiences. I chose a career that would bring me in contact with people on a personal level. I was trained at Columbia University and I have worked in crisis centers, addiction treatment, physical rehabilitation, mental health and cancer care. These experiences inform my work and I am passionate about what I do. I have a small independent practice where you will receive personalized attention. You'll experience a comfortable and safe environment where you can explore issues that are important to you. I often integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy(DBT) and other coping skills to help you regulate your emotions and reduce impulsive or destructive behaviors. I also use Brainspotting, a process that unlocks the brains amazing ability for healing and optimization. Your mental health matters to me.
