About My Clients
I currently work with adult clients who are seeking individual therapy. My areas of clinical focus include anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, developmental trauma, relational trauma, and a general sense of feeling "stuck" in life. I have experience and clinical interest in working with adults who experienced emotional neglect - or an emotionally unavailable parent(s) - during childhood.
My Background and Approach
I believe that through therapy, clients can gain more in-depth awareness of their emotional experience, thoughts and behaviors, and how one’s past may inform one’s present. This awareness can help create space for self-acceptance, self-compassion, and cultivate personal growth and desired change. I find that my approach to therapy tends to be a good fit for people who are looking to gain insight and understanding about themselves, not just looking for skills to manage symptoms or "quick fixes." My areas of focus include working with relational trauma, developmental trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief/loss, and life transitions. I have particular clinical interest in working with adults who grew up with parents or primary caregivers who were emotionally unavailable.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My goal in my therapeutic work is to create a space where clients feel accepted, safe, and supported to explore any and all aspects of themselves and their lives. Through this journey of exploration, I believe clients can achieve personal growth, new perspectives and skills, and hopefully, a greater sense of self-awareness, self-compassion, and self-acceptance.
