About My Clients

One of the privileges of being a therapist is being welcomed into my clients' lives. I am humbled each time a client takes the risk to allow our connection to deepen. Many of my clients struggle with the impacts of traumatic histories including: Depression, Anxiety, relationship challenges and life cycle adjustments. I have a focus on Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders and the transition to parenthood.

My Background and Approach

I am a relational therapist. I see the therapeutic relationship as the most powerful agent of change. My clients are the experts on their lives. I am here to be compassionately curious with them about what has gone well in relationships, what has been harmful, and where they want to change. I have completed two post-graduate fellowships and I participate in ongoing Trauma Consultation.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have been involved in facilitating dialogues on identity professionally and personally for the past 10 years. My role as facilitator in UIC's Dialogue Program has provided me many opportunities to explore my own identity (race, ethnicity, gender, sex, sexual orientation, religion, ability, socioeconomic status, age) and how these multiple identities have shaped my worldview. I am in ongoing consultation about being a White therapist and unlearning the harmful impacts of white supremacy culture. I enjoy working with clients who are interested in exploring their racial identity and how we can collectively work toward justice.
