About My Clients
I work with adults and couples who want to move from self protection to connection. People who are stuck and overwhelmed, hard on themselves, exhausted from difficult and confusing relational wounds, or who are navigating the effects of frightening experiences. These folks are looking for deeper connection and understanding with themselves and the ones they love. They definitely don't have to have it figured out and *that's okay* - we'll figure it out together.
My Background and Approach
I approach therapy with relational frameworks like narrative and psychodynamic therapy, attachment-based interventions, IFS, and EMDR. With couples, I am trained in Gottman Method to help you rebuild trust and connection, and create a relationship where you both feel seen. My therapy style is relational, warm, empathetic, and direct. Much of my therapy practice is informed by the values of hospitality, transformation, learning, and interdependence which I learned in previous impactful career and personal experiences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we worked really hard to figure out a way to survive. Those skills helped a whole lot protecting you as a child. It's important to view behavior through this lens because it opens up the story of how you got here, what you did to survive, and what you want to do with it now. Due to this belief, I enjoy working with survivors of relational and childhood trauma, adult children of emotionally immature parents/dysfunctional families, religious trauma, and folks looking to move from self protection to connection. I am LGBTQ+ affirming, prioritize cultural humility, and ongoing learning to create as safe of therapeutic space as possible. When I'm not in the therapy room, I'm attempting to learn a new hobby (right now, it's sewing and knitting), cooking dinner with my friends and family, or running with my energetic dog.
