About My Clients

If you're looking for someone who is totally in your corner, someone who will support you and challenge you too, I'm here for it. Let's get started so you can begin to feel better, foster change, and get things off your mind. I will help you to identify goals like processing tough emotions, increasing self-compassion, getting better at working through difficult life changes, improving communication skills, identifying what we can and cannot control, and start feeling unstuck!

My Background and Approach

I enjoy working with individuals, couples, families, and groups. My specialties include reducing anxiety, managing grief, and de-escalating anger. I work with couples and singles around improving communication, rebuilding trust, increasing emotional connection, and goal setting in relationships. I also run a Toddler Moms support group! I identify as a white, cishet male; I am an ally of LGBTQIA+ people; Black, Brown, and all people of color; sex-positive, kink-affirming, poly-informed. I received my MA with honors in Couples and Family Therapy from Northeastern Illinois University. I was a therapist intern at UCAN in Chicago, supporting families and individuals. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked at multiple crisis intervention call centers, helping people get the resources to manage their immediate needs.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

To achieve growth we are best-positioned if we prioritize curiosity, acceptance, humility, honesty/transparency, and flexibility. It's really the curiosity and acceptance that are most crucial for individual, couples, or family therapy. Also, studies indicate that for growth in therapy to occur, there must be trust between the client and therapist -- that's my job. Your job? Be real, and come with an open mind about your own strengths, and where you want to grow. We are living in unprecedented times, and all of us are going through it together. The fear, rage, and other emotions you might be feeling make sense, and need a place to go, in order to direct that energy into meaningful change. I support underprivileged populations, and empowering them to process the pain of oppression; I also work with people like me (white / cisgender / heterosexual / male) to process their privilege and become a better ally.
