About My Clients
Is your past constantly influencing your present through your relationships, self regulation, self- esteem and more? Do you often feel stuck in the mode of fight or flight? Together, we can work on unlearning harmful thought patterns, building self-esteem, and identifying what safety, strength, and autonomy look like for you in an inclusive, warm, and affirming environment.
My Background and Approach
Through my training and clinical work in trauma focused care and sexual violence, I understand the complexity of trauma and how it can affect every part of our lives, mind, and body. Certified in Trauma-Focused CBT, I use an integrated approach that includes psychodynamic, person-centered, and strengths-based therapies that are tailored to each client. Therapy isn’t about fixing you. You aren’t broken. It’s about reconnecting with your resilience, honoring your lived experiences, and giving yourself the care and space you deserve to heal.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
At the heart of my work is the belief that people are resilient and capable of transformation. I believe that trauma does not define who you are. The choices you made and the ways you survived in difficult circumstances were likely the best you could do with the knowledge and resources you had at the time. I view those moments not as failures but as survival strategies that deserve compassion. In therapy, we can explore how those old strategies may no longer serve you, and begin to replace them with healthier ways of coping and living. There is a saying that 'familiar chaos can feel more comfortable than unfamiliar peace,' meaning that when we’ve lived in survival mode or been shaped by difficult environments, peace can feel strange, maybe even unsafe. My role is to walk alongside you as we gently shift that comfort zone, so that peace, stability, and self-acceptance become places where you can feel at home.
